The mechanicals have always been updated and well taken care of. All restoration is documented with photos. The restoration was done by a professional British car expert. ![]() The test drive was impressive!The current owner and only owner since 1969 has meticulously taken care of this car. The transmission has had a total rebuild and shifts smoothly and is tight. Carpet is new and super clean.Engine is the original 4 cylinder with manual transmission. The roadster top is black.Interior is black and all components are excellent. This car has always been garaged and is never driven in inclement weather.Exterior is Leaf Green and the paint is excellent. It has had a complete professional restoration and all mechanicals are updated and fresh. Production years for the Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite were from 1958-1961.This 1959 Bugeye Sprite has been in the same family since 1969. The Sprite has been named the Frogeye in the UK, and the Bugeye in the US because of its distinctive headlights that are prominently mounted on top of the bonnet and face skyward. As such, there are a few flaws in the paint and the interior, but as you can see from the pictures, the car displays extremely well. This car has not been restored and is a survivor. I am only asking $12,200 for this little gem. Hagerty values these sprites between $7,800 and $16,800. Car is currently titled and registered in Arizona and is displaying Historic Vehicle Tags. I also have a couple of boxes of parts that I will include with the sale of this car. Drives flawlessly, accelerates and transitions gears well (1st gear not synchronized), handles well even at 65 mph with no steering issues. Serviced through British Car mechanics with recent new tires, brakes, tune up, rear axle seals, steering rack boots, fuel pump. Excellent body condition and runs very well.
